Prof. Huiyu Zhou

Brief Introduction: Prof. Huiyu Zhou received a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Radio Technology from Huazhong University of Science and Technology of China and a Master of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering from University of Dundee of United Kingdom, respectively. He was awarded a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Computer Vision from Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, United Kingdom, supervised by Professors Patrick Green (Psychology) and Andrew Wallace (Computer Engineering).
Prof. Zhou heads the AI and Machine Learning Group and leads the Biomedical Image Processing Lab (BIPL) at University of Leicester. He was PGR Director of CMS (2022-2025), Director of MSc Programme (2018-2019) and Coordinator of MSc Distance Learning at Informatics (2018-2022), and currently is Deputy Director of Research Centre for Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics and Modelling (AIDAM), Member of the Executive Group of Apollo-Leicester Centre for Digital Health and Precision Medicine (CDHPM). Prior to this appointment, he worked as Reader (2018-2020) at University of Leicester, and Lecturer (2012-2017) at the School of Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Queen's University Belfast (QUB). He was a visiting scholar of QUB during 2018-2020.

Brief Introduction: Xu Weihua is a Professor and Ph.D. supervisor at the School of Artificial Intelligence, Southwest University. He is an Academic and Technical Leader of Chongqing, a Young and Middle-aged Backbone Teacher of Chongqing, a nominee for the “Top Ten Young Science and Technology Talents” of Chongqing, and a Minjiang Scholar Distinguished Professor of Fujian Province. He is a Senior Member of the International Rough Set Society, a Senior Member of the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence (CAAI), Vice Director of the CAAI Knowledge Engineering and Distributed Intelligence Committee, Secretary-General of the CAAI Granular Computing and Knowledge Discovery Committee, and Executive Member of the Artificial Intelligence and Pattern Recognition Committee of the China Computer Federation. He serves as Associate Editor of the SCI journal IJMLC, and as Editorial Board Member of ASOC and the Journal of Zhengzhou University (Science Edition). He has published more than 260 papers in high-level international and domestic journals such as IEEE TCYB, IEEE TFS, IEEE TNNLS, IEEE TETCI, IEEE TBD, IEEE TAI, INF, INS, KBS, and FSS, among which more than 160 papers have been indexed by SCI, with over 7,400 citations in Google Scholar, an H-index of 46, and 11 papers listed as ESI Highly Cited Papers. He has also published 5 academic monographs with Science Press. He has presided over 4 projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China and more than 20 provincial and ministerial projects such as the Key Project of Chongqing Natural Science Foundation. He has received the Second Prize of the Yunnan Provincial Natural Science Award and the Third Prize of the Hebei Provincial Natural Science Award. He has served (or co-served) as Program Committee Chair, Organizing Committee Co-Chair, and Young Forum Chair for many international and domestic academic conferences, and has been invited to deliver keynote speeches at numerous conferences. He is also a review expert for the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the Ministry of Education Natural Science Award. He has achieved fruitful results in artificial intelligence, data mining, cognitive computing, granular computing, information fusion, knowledge engineering, and related fields. Since 2022, he has been consecutively listed among the world’s top 2 % most-cited scientists and the lifelong scientific influence rankings.

Prof. Tao Lei

Brief Introduction: Lei Tao is a Full Professor (Second Class) and the head of a Key Science and Technology Innovation Team in Shaanxi Province. He holds distinguished memberships as a Distinguished Member of the China Computer Federation (CCF) and a Senior Member of both IEEE and CSIG. His exceptional contributions have been recognized through numerous prestigious accolades, including the Shaanxi Provincial High-Level Talent Introduction Program, the Shaanxi Provincial Distinguished Young Scholar Award, the Sanqin Yingcai Support Program for Leading Talents, and inclusion in the Stanford University's Global Top 2% Scientists List.
Prof. Lei actively serves the academic community as an Associate Editor or Editorial Board Member for seven journals, including Journal of Intelligent Systems and Radio Engineering. He is also a standing council member of the Shaanxi Electronics Society and the Shaanxi Society of Image and Graphics. Furthermore, he has taken on significant organizational roles (e.g., General Chair, Technical Program Committee Chair, Publicity Chair) at over 20 international conferences.His primary research focuses on Computer Vision and Machine Learning. To date, he has authored or edited 4 books/volumes and published over 100 papers in top-tier international journals and conferences such as IEEE TIP, IEEE T-CSVT, IEEE TMI, ICCV, AAAI, and IJCAI. Among these, 13 are ESI Highly Cited Papers, and his work has garnered over 7,300 citations on Google Scholar. He has secured funding as the principal investigator for various projects from the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), including Young Scientist, General, and International Cooperation programs.
His research excellence has been honored with several awards, most notably the Shaanxi Provincial Natural Science Award (Second Prize) and the Gansu Provincial Higher Education Institutions Outstanding Research Achievement Award (First Prize), both as the first completer, as well as the IEEE TRPMS Best Paper Award. Under his supervision, his graduate students have achieved championship and runner-up positions in international AI competitions and won the First Prize at the 18th China Graduate Electronics Design Contest National Finals. Notably, his research findings have been featured in a special report by the U.S. mainstream media Academic Times.

Prof. Zhenbing Zhao

Brief Introduction: Zhao Zhenbing holds a Ph.D. in Engineering and is a Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at North China Electric Power University. He currently serves as the Associate Director of the Institute of Intelligent Visual Computing, the Deputy Director of the Ministry of Education's Engineering Research Center for Intelligent Computing of Complex Energy Systems, and the Deputy Director of the Power Vision Research Center at the School of Artificial Intelligence. His primary research focuses on Artificial Intelligence in Power Systems and Computer Vision for Power Systems, affiliated with the Communication Teaching and Research Section of the Information and Communication Engineering discipline.
Prof. Zhao holds several key academic service positions, including Council Member of the IEEE PES Subcommittee on Artificial Intelligence, Member of the CES Technical Committee on Artificial Intelligence and Electrical Applications, Member of the CCF Technical Committee on Computer Vision, and Chair of YOCSEF Baoding. He is also a member of the CSIG Technical Committees on Visual Big Data, Imaging Detection & Perception, and Traffic Video, a member of the CSEE Power Communication Technical Committee, and serves on the editorial board of the IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement (TIM). He has been selected for the Hebei Provincial "Three Three Three Talent Project" and acts as a review expert for high-tech enterprise certification.
In terms of research projects, he has led two projects from the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), one from the Beijing Natural Science Foundation, and two from the Hebei Natural Science Foundation, while also participating in sub-projects of the National 863 Program and the National Key R&D Program. His achievements include winning the 2019 Hebei Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award (First Prize) as the third completer, authoring two monographs as the first author, publishing over 50 SCI/EI-indexed papers, and obtaining 16 authorized national patents. Research from his team covers areas such as defect detection for transmission line hardware and image classification neural network models. They have also conducted specialized seminars and academic exchanges on power vision technology at institutions like Shenyang Institute of Engineering.
